Academic Support

Vanderbilt offers a wealth of sources of academic assistance to undergraduate students. In addition to checking out the following offices and programs, your CASPAR adviser encourages you to visit with him or her if you have concerns about your courses. And don’t neglect to make full use of your instructors’ office hours!

Tutoring Services
Offers free, individual, appointment-based tutoring for most introductory courses in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, French, Mathematics, Physics, and Spanish. Available to all Vanderbilt undergraduates. Located at 1801 Edgehill Avenue.

The Writing Studio
Offers free, individual, appointment-based writing consultations for all kinds of writing at all stages of the process.  Available to all members of the Vanderbilt community.  Located at 1801 Edgehill Avenue and The Ingram Commons.

Center for Second Language Studies
Offers resources for students wishing to enhance their study of other languages.

English Language Center
Provides English-language support to students and employees of Vanderbilt for whom English is not a first language.

Academic Skills Coaching at the Center for Student Wellbeing
Offers individual sessions and group workshops on reading and study skills as well as time and stress management.
