Graduate Application Process

Application

Online application – we invite potential applicants for the 2018-2019 academic year to begin their applications starting on December 1, 2017 via the online portal: http://gradschool.vanderbilt.edu/admissions/application/index.php.

The Center for Latin American Studies offers a terminal Masters in Latin American Studies (MALAS) degree. The application deadline for Fall 2018 admission is January 15, 2018. In order to encourage applicants to utilize the Online Application System, the Graduate School has waived the application fee for electronic submissions.

As part of the on-line application, candidates will provide:

  1. Statement of Purpose
  1. A minimum of three letters of recommendation (and no more than five).
  1. An unofficial, scanned College Transcript(s) and Graduate Transcript(s) if applicable. Admitted applicants will be instructed to submit official and final transcripts as a condition of enrollment at Vanderbilt.
  1. Recent GRE examination scores (no older than five years). GRE codes: Vanderbilt 1871

*Note: Exams should be taken no later than November to in order to guarantee scores ready for Fall admissions deadlines.

  1. (If applicable) Recent TOEFL or IELTS scores
