Fast Facts/FAQ

We currently offer two majors: a B.A. in Latino and Latina Studies and B.A. in Latin American Studies. We also offer minors in Latino and Latina Studies, Brazilian Studies, and Latin American Studies. Additionally, our department offers a 4 + 1 M.A. program which allows exceptional undergraduate Latin American Studies majors to quickly complete their M.A. degree through taking an additional year of coursework and completing a master’s thesis.

We currently offer an M.A. in Latin American Studies (LAS), as well as three dual degree tracks at the master’s level in conjunction with professional programs at Vanderbilt: M.A. in LAS/MPH in public health, M.A. in LAS/ M.Ed. in international education and policy management, and M.A. in LAS/MBA. We also offer two Graduate Certificates: Latino and Latina Studies and Latin American Studies.
