This institute, Towards a More Equitable and Inclusive Digital World in Latin America: A Workshop for K-12 Educators will take place at Vanderbilt University June 24-28, 2024.

The institute will introduce K-12 educators to evidence-based, inclusive approaches, techniques, and instructional strategies aimed at creating supportive, learner-centered environments to enhance the teaching of inclusive digital technology in Latin America. The program will introduce participants to Latin Americanist scholars and educators who leverage digital technology to expand knowledge about Latin America and its people. Additionally, activists using digital platforms as a tool for social justice and to amplify the voices of marginalized populations in Latin America will be featured.

The institute will also include hands-on workshops demonstrating how to use digital platforms such as, podcasts and AI, in the K-12 classroom to address the diverse learning needs of all students. Participants will gain access to digital archives that can facilitate lesson planning and classroom teaching on Latin America.
