Kathleen McKiernan
Assistant Professor of Economics
Professor McKiernan completed her Ph.D. in Economics from University of Minnesota in 2018 and her B.A. in Economics and Spanish Literature from the University of Notre Dame in 2012. She is a quantitative macroeconomist with interests in government policy and the incentives policies give to households. Her current research focuses on three areas: the impact of reforms to existing Social Security systems with particular focus on cases in South America, issues associated with aging and late-life consumption, and the interaction between government policy and human capital accumulation associated with education and re-training programs.
