Matthew O'Keefe
Assistant Professor of Economics
Matthew O'Keefe is an economist who specializes in industrial organization. His recent research has examined wastewater management practices in the oil and gas industry and auctions of financial transmission rights in wholesale electricity markets. He received a PhD in Economics from Northwestern University and a B.S. in mathematics with specialization in economics from the University of Chicago. Prior to graduate school he worked in the economic consulting industry.
Specializations
I am an industrial organization economist interested in energy markets. My research has examined wastewater management in the oil and gas industry and market design issues in wholesale electricity markets, with a focus on strategic behavior by firms. I look forward to teaching core methods in empirical industrial organization as well as energy economics.
