Malin Hu

Assistant Professor of Economics

Malin Hu is an applied macroeconomist with interests in household consumption, consumer finance, and the U.S. housing and mortgage markets.  Her current research focuses on the aggregate and distributional consequences of household leverage regulations implemented after the Great Recession; the interaction between homeownership and consumption; and the transmission of monetary policy to the mortgage market.  She completed her Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University in 2019 and her B.S.F.S. in International Political Economy from Georgetown University in 2011.
