Dong Wei is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Vanderbilt University. He is a microeconomic theorist with research interests in information economics and dynamic games. His work explores how information frictions shape the way people communicate, interact in markets, and build long-term relationships, with a particular focus on the challenges (and remedies) that arise with asymmetric information.

Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Dong was an assistant professor at UC Santa Cruz from 2021 to 2026. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from UC Berkeley.
