Ariell Zimran

Assistant Professor of Economics

Professor Zimran completed his Ph.D. in Economics at Northwestern University in 2016 and his BSFS in International Economics at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in 2010. He is an economic historian with research interests in applied microeconomics generally, and in labor economics in particular. Professor Zimran's research explores two major historical phenomena. The first is the onset of modern economic growth in the antebellum United States, focusing on the anthropometric history of this period. The second is the Age of Mass Migration from Europe to the United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, focusing particularly on the Italian case.
