1) VIDEO LINK: SAM FRIEDLANDER / “BABYSPLITTERS” Q&A — For those of you who missed our fantastic Q&A with VU alum and “Babysplitters” writer-director Sam Friedlander, here’s a link to the video on YouTube. Sorry it took a while… and we’re still working on some of the other sessions… we’ve been having some technical and audio issues we are trying to work them out. Anyway, here’s the link:
2) BILL BADI / CARTER ADKINS FILM PREMIERE & AWARD NOMINATIONS! — Congrats to former Vandy-in-Hollywood interns Bill Badi and Carter Adkins, whose short film, “Jenna Bums the Loveseat,” was accepted into the Tampa Bay Underground Film Festival… and Carter’s script was nominated for best screenplay! (Carter wrote the film; Bill directed it.)
Also, the movie is now available to stream internationally from 12/3 (today!) — 12/6… so get your tickets now!!! Tickets cost $3USD and are available here:
Carter and Bill will also be doing a livestream Q&A through the festival at 1pm ET (I believe that’s 10AM for LA folks) on Saturday, December 5th, which folks can watch for free on Eventive. Here’s a link:
Fantastic work, Bill and Carter!
3) HANNAH FASICK FILM PREMIERE! — Kudos to former Vandy-in-Hollywood intern Hannah Fasick, whose sci-fi short, “Built To Howl,” starring Alex Quijano and Nicole Steinwedell, has just debuted on Vimeo! The film is terrific and will be the best five minutes of your day. Awesome job, Hannah!!
I’ve attached the one-sheet below, and here’s a link to the film:
4) CONGRATULATIONS TO QUINCIE LI! — Big props to former Vandy-in-Hollywood intern Quincie Li, who was just promoted to Literary Manager at Kaplan/Perrone, one of the top boutique management firms in Hollywood! During her summers with ViH, Quincie was a rock-star intern at FremantleMedia (American Idol, America’s Got Talent), Joke Productions (Deadly Recall, Unmasking a Killer), New Regency Productions (Gone Girl, Fight Club), and George Clooney’s Smokehouse Pictures (Argo, Ocean’s 8). It’s no surprise, and well-deserved, that she’s landed this plum position — kudos, Quincie!
