Professor Alejandro Acierto of CMA and the Art Department is showcasing some of his recent work!

First, his work is part of a large exhibition called “After Life (We Survive) – viewable from outside at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The exhibition asks “how can new media, visual art, and performance help us imagine new ways of surviving and thriving, and how can these creative proposals for more just and livable futures support and amplify the grassroots organizing led by LGBTQ, Indigenous, Latinx, Black, Asian and Pacific Islander communities in the Bay Area and beyond?” It opens November 2nd and runs through the end of January. More information can be found here – https://ybca.org/event/after-life-we-survive/

Also, a short film “Getting Closer to You” which he made during quarantine is being shown as part of the 2020 Film and Video Poetry Symposium in the experimental film category.
