Colloquium – Nadia Drake

Nadia Drake, Freelance Science Journalist

From observations to headlines: the role of science journalism in sharing discoveries

Scientific discoveries rarely make headlines by chance. Instead, journalists play a crucial role in translating complex research into stories that inform, engage, and inspire the public. But how do journalists choose which discoveries to cover? How do we report and write stories? And what should you know if you’re considering a career in science journalism? This presentation will explore how science journalists bridge the gap between researchers and audiences, from reporting breaking news to crafting longer feature stories.
