William, originally from Wales, joined Vanderbilt after completing his studies in Mathematics and Physics at the University of York. His research has resulted in the development of widely-used code and published papers focused on spectral refitting for the rapid estimation and characterization of PTA spectral parameters. Furthermore, he has authored papers on revising the gravitational-wave background assumptions when observing a finite population over a limited data stretch. This work establishes pathways to discriminate between an astrophysical background composed of binaries and a cosmological background generated by early-Universe processes.
