Director’s Welcome
Welcome to CLACX, where students and faculty will find exciting opportunities to stoke their research passions, embark on fulfilling career paths, and connect to the Latinx community in Nashville. Created in Fall 2021, our project is to examine connections between Latinx and Latin American and Caribbean studies, enriching both through comparative and interdisciplinary analyses. We are committed to flexible and professionally rigorous study programs for undergraduate and graduate students. This is a center where undergraduates, especially, will find a space to engage and grow—whatever your majors and career plans. We look forward to seeing you at a cafecito, a teach-in, or in the “field,” as part of an experiential learning project.
We need your expertise, your convictions, to help us fulfill our aim of bridging scholarly and public-facing discussions. Please continuing exploring our site for specifics on degree programs, the Center’s existing and growing areas of interest, and to appreciate CLACX’s longstanding collaborations with the schools of medicine, education, nursing, music, and law, among others, at Vanderbilt.
Hasta pronto,
Celso Thomas Castilho
