VCL Hosts First Alumni Reunion Reception
Director of the Vanderbilt Center for Languages, Chalene Helmuth, welcomes alumni.
This year on November 8th, the Vanderbilt Center for Languages hosted its first ever Alumni Reunion Reception. The Center invited alumni from all language majors as well as past McTyeire International House residents to celebrate at the VCL Satellite, reconnecting with professors and peers. Alumni in Russian, Spanish, German, and Chinese spoke about the ways in which studying a language—and their connections to our language faculty—had shaped their professional and personal journeys. The evening was festive, featuring a delicious spread of international fare and served as a welcoming space to celebrate global languages and culture during Homecoming weekend.
