Leping Wang

Leping Wang is a medical sociologist and demographer studying aging and life course, health, social networks, and inequality. Her dissertation work investigated how different types of social connectedness (including social participation, social support, and marital histories) shape the mental and cognitive health outcomes among older adults across the United States and China. At Vanderbilt, she is working as a post-doctoral researcher on the NIH R56-funded project “National Study of Older Never-Married Adults” (NSONMA), led by Dr. Lijun Song.
