Albina Khabibulina serves as Assistant Professor of the Practice in Russian and Russian Language Program Director. She specializes in second language acquisition and teaching with interests in sociocultural approaches to second language teaching and learning, dynamic assessment, proficiency-based instruction, and heritage language education. Before joining Vanderbilt, Khabibulina taught at the University of Georgia, West Virginia University, and the University of Montana. She has also been an instructor in various summer intensive language programs, such as the Indiana University Summer Language Workshop, the Arizona State University Critical Languages Institute (CLI), and Middlebury Russian Summer School.
Khabibulina’s teaching and research have been supported by a Fulbright FLTA grant as well as Research Support Award from the National Federation of Modern Language Teachers’ Associations (NFMLTA) and the National Council of Less Commonly Taught Languages (NCOLCTL).
