Latin American and Caribbean Images Photo Competition 2026

Enter your favorite picture from Latin America or the Caribbean for a chance to win up to $200!

Photos will be selected to be featured in CLACX Garrido Cafecito Lounge; Garland Hall 140

September 7 – 18, 2026

Rules:

All current students, faculty, staff, and visiting scholars at Vanderbilt University are eligible to participate.
ONE entry per participant
Photographs must be:
1. the original work of the participant
2. taken in Latin America or the Caribbean
3. submitted electronically via Google submission form
Each electronic entry must include:
1. Title of work
2. Complete name of photographer
3. Vanderbilt email address of photographer
Deadline: The final date for submitting photos is Friday, August 28 at 3:00 p.m.
By signing the entry form and submitting it, entrants are agreeing to grant Vanderbilt University, Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies (CLACX) use of the photographs in displays related to the contest and in other printed and electronic publications. Efforts will be made to credit the entrant where possible.
Judges will choose photographs to be exhibited at Garrido Cafecito Lounge in Garland Hall 140 during September 7-18, 2026; all photographs will be participating for top three prizes
Entries will be judged on artistic expression, creativity, originality, and the quality of the image. The contest organizers reserve the right to disqualify entries which do not conform to the stated contest rules and criteria.
Award winners will be announced at a reception to take place on Friday, September 11 during our Bienvenida at 11:30 pm in Garland Hall, suite 140, where the photos will be displayed.
Prizes: First place $200, Second place $150, and Third place $50
