Eligibility
- Open to current Vanderbilt University students, faculty, staff, and visiting scholars.
- One entry per participant.
Photo Requirements
Your photograph must:
- Be your original work.
- Be taken in Latin America or the Caribbean.
- Be submitted electronically via the Google submission form.
Submission Must Include
- Photo title.
- Brief description.
- Photographer’s full name.
- Vanderbilt email address.
Deadline
Friday, August 28, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
Rights and Permissions
By submitting your entry, you grant Vanderbilt University’s Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies (CLACX) permission to use your photograph in:
- Contest-related displays.
- Printed publications.
- Electronic publications.
The organizers will make efforts to credit the photographer whenever possible.
Judging
Entries will be evaluated based on:
- Artistic expression.
- Creativity.
- Originality.
- Image quality.
Contest organizers may disqualify entries that do not meet the stated rules and criteria.
Exhibition
Selected photographs will be exhibited:
- Location: Garrido Cafecito Lounge, Garland Hall 140
- Dates: September 8–18, 2026
All exhibited photographs will be eligible for the top three prizes.

Winners will be announced during the Bienvenida Reception:
