Reha Atakan Cetin
Lecturer in Sociology
Reha Atakan Cetin (he/him/his) is a sociologist whose research spans migration, gender and sexuality, digital sociology, and environmental sociology, focusing on how power and identity operate across transnational, socio-technical, and ecological contexts. He earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Florida in 2025 and also holds an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago (2020), an M.Sc. in European Studies from the London School of Economics (2017), and a B.Sc. in Political Science and Public Administration from Middle East Technical University (2016). His work has been published in New Political Science, Refugee Watch, and Interdisciplinary Political Studies. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Cetin has led user experience (UX) research in nonprofit and corporate sectors, focusing on inclusive design, accessibility, and digital ethics. He has reviewed for New Media & Society and the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, and is an active member of the Ethnographic Praxis in Industry Community (EPIC). He teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses on social inequality, environmental sociology, migration, political sociology, urban studies, marriage and family, and research methods in social sciences.
