Meagan Rainock is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Sociology. She studies the identities, experiences, and well-being of marginalized communities, particularly those of racial, ethnic, and religious minorities. At Vanderbilt University, she has trained in medical sociology and criminology. Her doctoral work examines race and gender disparities in health and criminal justice outcomes, and the role that race and gender play in the criminalization and medicalization of mental illness.
