Yu-Ri Kim received her BA in sociology from Seoul National University in 2008 and her MA in sociology from Chung-Ang University in 2014. Her master’s thesis examines the sexual politics and film censorship in Korea in the 1990's. She served as a committee member for the Korean Independent Film and Video Association and for the Korean Film Council. Following her long-lasting interest in the cultural representation of sexuality and gender, race and the body, her current research interests extend to sexual health and illness and sexual citizenship. She is a Fulbright scholar in 2015-2017.
