Peter Vielehr

Peter Vielehr received his B.A. in Sociology and Women and Gender Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2008 and his M.A. in Sexuality Studies from San Francisco State University in 2012. Before beginning graduate school at Vanderbilt, he worked in HIV case management and prevention in Colorado. This led to his master’s thesis, which focused on intersectional identities of young gay men living with HIV in San Francisco. His work at Vanderbilt is in two main areas: racial mental health disparities and beneficial coping resources, and the role of new HIV prevention technologies on the lives of gay men and gay men’s communities.
