Cathryn E. Beeson-Lynch

Mellon Graduate Fellow in Digital Humanities 2018-2019

Cathryn Beeson-Lynch received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from The University of Texas at Austin in 2014 and graduated Ampla Cum Laude with departmental honors. 

 

Her primary areas of interests are communication and information technologies, social movements, and gender and sexuality. She is currently examining the emergence and development of social movements on social media by analyzing Twitter data containing the viral #MeToo hashtag. Her other current projects include analyzing news media coverage of Supreme Court cases that involve abortion and gender discrimination and collecting and analyzing amicus briefs submitted in favor or against these Supreme Court cases.
