Congratulations to Dr. Philip J Pettis!
We are delighted to share some wonderful news from one of our former graduate students, Dr. Philip J. Pettis. PJ currently serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology at Michigan State University (MSU). He successfully defended his dissertation in spring 2023, which has recently been honored with the Best Dissertation Award from the Sociology of Mental Health Section of the American Sociological Association.
Additionally, PJ was recognized last month as the Outstanding Teacher in the College of Social Science. He will be delivering a keynote address at the Spring Commencement on April 27 at MSU.

Title: “Contextualizing Heterosexism: An Intersectional Approach to Sexual Minority Health Inequalities”
