Blake Dunshee Receives Outstanding Teacher Award
Blake Dunshee has been awarded the 2019 Outstanding Graduate Student Teacher Award by Vanderbilt’s College of Arts and Science. The annual award recognizes exceptionally effective teaching by a graduate student with full responsibility for the courses they have taught.
Dunshee has been the instructor of record for both Single-Variable Calculus I and Accelerated Single-Variable Calculus II. He is the first mathematics student to receive the award since it was established in 2013.
Dunshee received bachelor’s degrees in both mathematics and finance from Samford University in 2015. His research interests are in graph theory.
Winners of this award are selected each year by the Committee on Graduate Education from among departmental nominees. Each winner receives a cash prize and an engraved plaque.
