Fifteenth Annual NCGOA Spring Institute, May 5-11
The Department of Mathematics hosted the Fifteenth Annual Spring Institute on Noncommutative Geometry and Operator Algebras May 5-11, 2017. The theme of the 2017 event was Operator Algebras and Logic.
The Spring Institute is a combination of spring school and international research conference. During the school part of the meeting several mini-courses on a variety of topics from operator algebras and logic were given by leading experts. The mini-course speakers were Bradd Hart of McMaster University, Justin Moore of Cornell University, Roman Sasyk of the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Simon Thomas of Rutgers University, and Anush Tserunyan of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The conference portion of the event consisted of a number of invited research talks and short contributions. More details are available on the conference web site.
The Spring Institute on Noncommutative Geometry and Operator Algebras was sponsored by the National Science Foundation, the Department of Mathematics, and the College of Arts & Science at Vanderbilt University. The organizing committee consists of Dietmar Bisch, Vaughan Jones, and Jesse Peterson (all of Vanderbilt University).
