Office of Postdoctoral Affairs
The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) within the Graduate School is responsible for planning and managing programs and services for Vanderbilt’s postdoctoral community. They support Vanderbilt-affiliated postdocs as well as faculty and staff administrators who work with the postdoctoral position. OPA has a webpage dedicated to faculty and staff resources to aid in the process of navigating the postdoctoral scholar workflow.
If you are an administrator who needs access to submit postdoctoral scholar appointment and reappointment requests, please email opa@vanderbilt.edu.
The Protection of Minors Office serves as a partner to Arts and Science units through their continued support in registering and approving programs with youth participants, compliance for faculty, staff, and students working with minors, and reporting policies for youth protection. Through their website, administrators can access the program database, view policies, and download required forms.
As of the summer of 2024, please note that for all programs with youth participants (day and residential programs), parents/guardians are required to complete health and medication forms. All forms are available on the Protection of Minors website.
Vanderbilt Catering serves as the internal partner for catering and events. Catering frequently interfaces with Student Centers and Plant Operations to ensure all event support is accurate to meet event management needs. Vanderbilt Catering offers a wide variety of options, including cocktail hours, buffet and seated meals, and bartending services. These services can include providing linens, glassware and place settings, florals and external vendor furniture rentals.
Please note, Vanderbilt Catering is required for a select number of reservable spaces on campus. Staff can make catering requests via this form or by emailing catering.
Title IX - Equity and Engagement
The Title IX Office has a wide array of resources on their website about mandatory reporting, university policies tied to sexual misconduct and formal grievances, and pregnancy and parenting support.
If units are interested in hosting a training for teams or staff, training sessions can be requested through the Title IX website. For further questions, email titleix@vanderbilt.edu.
Reservations and Events is part of the Student Centers (in the Division of Student Affairs). Their office oversees the reservation management software (EMS), facilities, and reservations for a variety of spaces in academic and non-academic buildings on campus. Program and departments should use EMS as the primary reservation tool for internal A&S classroom spaces. Programs and departments should explore all A&S space availability, which is free to use, before booking Student Center space, which is internally charged via COA.
Administrators can request EMS access through the EMS website.
International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS)
International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) is dedicated to advocating for and supporting the international community at Vanderbilt.
The ISSS website provides guidance for Vanderbilt administrators. ISSS also offers targeted training for staff who support the submission process for various visa types. Email isss@vanderbilt.edu if you have questions.
