Ted Dawson

Ted Dawson received his BA from Davidson College in 2006 and his MA from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009, both in German. After completing his undergraduate studies, including a year spent at the University of Würzburg, Germany, he spent two years as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Austria. He has taught German at Davidson College, UC Berkeley, Belmont University, and Vanderbilt. He spent the 2015-16 year as an Ernst Mach Fellow at the University of Vienna doing research for his dissertation on the poetics of Austrian rap music. In the 2016-17 academic year, he was a Mellon Digital Humanities Fellow at Vanderbilt, and he is currently a Graduate Affiliate at the Center for Second Language Studies, where he leads a working group on immersion and virtual reality in language classes.
