The Dieter and Ingrid Sevin Awards
Undergraduate Research Fellowships
This fund supports undergraduate student research projects and language education, including travel to and within German-speaking countries. Sevin Fellows typically receive up to $1,000 in support. Application deadlines are November 1 for spring and March 1 for summer or year-abroad stays. Application materials include a one-page rationale, a current transcript, and a resume. Students apply directly through the Department.
Award for Undergraduate Academic Achievement
Each year the Department recognizes the achievements of one student in German Studies and in Russian Studies. The award honors their accomplishments in different classes and their contribution to the culture and mission of the department in and beyond the classroom.
Award for Graduating Senior in German Studies
Each year the Department recognizes one graduating German Studies for outstanding research accomplishments during their senior year.
The James Edwards Scholarship Fund
The Edwards Fellowship is a need-based award and reserved for students planning to enroll in the semester-abroad program in Bremen or the year-abroad program in Freiburg. Edwards Fellows can receive up to $2,000 in support. Students apply through the Global Education Office.
