Lisa Dordal
Writer in Residence
Lisa Dordal holds a Master of Divinity and a Master of Fine Arts in poetry, both from Vanderbilt University, and teaches in the English Department at Vanderbilt. She is a Pushcart Prize nominated poet, and the recipient of an Academy of American Poets Prize, the Robert Watson Poetry Prize, and the Betty Gabehart Poetry Prize. Her work has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies including Best New Poets, Image, The Sun, Ninth Letter, CALYX, New Ohio Review, The Greensboro Review, Vinyl Poetry, and Nasty Women Poets: An Unapologetic Anthology of Subversive Verse. Her first full-length collection of poetry, Mosaic of the Dark (Black Lawrence Press, 2018), was a finalist for the Audre Lorde Award for Lesbian Poetry. Her second collection, Water Lessons, was published in 2022.
