Research Professor Samar Ali to present talk at TED Democracy event, Nov. 15
On November 15, 2023, Research Professor of Political Science and Law Samar Ali will be giving a talk at the TED Theatre in New York City presented by the TED Democracy Initiative. This talk will be part of an event bringing together democracy experts who are working to advance specific solutions for reform and showing what it takes to revitalize our civic culture.
Professor Ali’s research focuses on positive compromise through the promotion of conflict-resolution best practices among people, communities and nations experiencing polarization due to the connection between violence and labeling. She is also president and CEO of the nonprofit organization, Millions of Conversations, which works to unite Americans around common values for a shared future by fostering dialogue among those who hold different opinions, views or beliefs.
