As of 2015, we offer a Ph.D. degree in Astrophysics. This degree is housed within the Department of Physics and Astronomy and it is similar to the Physics Ph.D. program, but the degree requirements are somewhat different (especially the course requirements). For a detailed description of the Astrophysics Ph.D. rules, please see our Ph.D. chronology document.
Read about the application process and required materials here. Note that we do not require (and will not consider) the General or Physics GRE score for admission to the Astrophysics PhD program. To apply, visit theĀ online application site for the Vanderbilt Graduate School.
If you have any questions, please send an email to the Director of Graduate Studies in Astrophysics.
