Reflecting the strength of our Program in Jewish Studies, student Lucas Wilson, MTS, MA received the Zaglembier Society Scholarship from The Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies. This award recognizes students who “have a passion for keeping the memories of the Holocaust alive and a strong commitment to Simone Wiesenthal’s legacy of promoting education and tolerance.” This summer, Wilson will also be participating in The Center for Jewish History’s Seminar on Archival and Historical Research, as well as the Auschwitz Jewish Center Fellowship through the Museum for Jewish History. This fellowship is a three-week, in situ study trip to Kraków, Warsaw, Łódź, Treblinka, Oświęcim [Auschwitz], as well as south-eastern Poland and north-eastern Slovakia. Lucas Wilson’s experience is a prime example of the graduate work being done at Vanderbilt University in The Program for Jewish Studies.
