Victoria Gardner
Senior Lecturer
Victoria Cardeñosa Gardner has been an educator for over two decades and has taught at all levels of the education profession from middle and high school to college. She has studied and taught in Europe and the United States. She came to Vanderbilt University in 2006. As a Senior Lecture in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, she has taught a variety of courses including Elementary and Intermediate Spanish, Writing and Composition, Spanish Conversation, as well as Introduction to Spanish and Spanish American literature and Golden Age Literature. She earned a Master’s Degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1999 and a Ph.D. from Boston College in 2009. Her areas of Interest are Masculinity Studies, Hegemonic Masculinities in Imperial Spain, Baroque studies, and Culture and Imperial Power Relationship.
