Anna Tybinko

Postdoctoral Fellow

Anna Tybinko is a National Endowment for the Humanities Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Vanderbilt University. She holds a Ph.D. in Romance Studies from Duke University. Trained in modern and contemporary Peninsular literature and culture, she specializes in the movement of people and ideas between African and the Iberian Peninsula.
Her current book project, ‘Urban Borderlands: Contesting Racial Boundaries in Contemporary Spain’ engages questions of race, racialization, and racial “bordering” in Spanish cities. In addition to the National Endowment for the Humanities, her work has been supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the American Council for Learned Societies.
