Sarah Fluker
Graduate Student
Sarah Fluker hails from West Palm Beach, Florida. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Florida State University with a double degree in Media/Communication Studies and Spanish. She also earned a Master’s degree from Florida State in Hispanic Literature and Cultural Studies. Her internship work for UNAIDS Latin America, CBS affiliate WCTV, and a South Florida immigration law firm gave rise to her intersecting critical interests in queer poetics, disability studies, media studies, oceanic diaspora studies, and tourism studies. Her MA thesis was titled “La (de)sazón del deseo en los tiempos del Sida: Hacia la continuidad orgánica en el eco-imaginario queer de Abigael Bohórquez”.
