Steven Wenz
Senior Lecturer
Steven Wenz is a Senior Lecturer and the Faculty Coordinator for the weekly Spanish Table. He holds a combined PhD in Spanish and Portuguese from Vanderbilt University (2016), where he also earned an MA in Spanish (2012) and an MA in Portuguese (2013). He has taught a variety of language, literature, and culture courses at the University of South Carolina, the University of Maine-Farmington, and Vanderbilt. His primary research interests are Latin American literature from the 19th century to the present, Golden Age Spain, and the theory and practice of translation. His published articles include "The Importance of Humor in Recent Translations of Don Quijote," "Caballeros ilustrados: Forner, Cadalso y Don Quijote en la batalla por España," and “‘Where foamy the Sicilian sea’: La sintaxis del Polifemo de Góngora en la traducción.”
