A guided tour of Applied Algebraic Topology
Topological data analysis develops methods based on algebraic topology to provide insight into the structure of scientific data. Often these tools come with theorems guaranteeing that their output is stable with respect perturbations of the input. I will give a survey of some aspects of this research area and a few of its connections to old and new mathematics.
