Steven J. Lipson is a doctoral candidate focusing on 20th century U.S. social and political history, with particular interests in the history of education, religious history, and African-American history. His dissertation will look at K-12 religious schooling in post-1960s America. Prior to returning to academia, Steve worked at the American Institutes for Research, an education policy research organization in Washington, DC. A Pittsburgh native, Steve previously held a research internship at the Senator John Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh. His advisor is Professor Sarah Igo.
