E. Kyle Romero

E. Kyle Romero is a third year graduate student in U.S. history at Vanderbilt University. His primary academic interests are in the historical fields of transnational diplomacy in late 19th and early 20th century America, as well as intellectual and economic history. His Master’s Thesis from Brandeis University, titled “‘A Fruitful Source of Trouble’: The Virginius Affair and the Rise of Free Trade Foreign Policy in Nineteenth-Century America,” followed these themes and focused on U.S.-Spanish economic and political relations in the years leading up to the War of 1898. Kyle’s advisor is Professor Paul Kramer.
