Kayleigh Whitman

A first-year student, Kayleigh studies American Religious History with a special focus on questions of race, religion, and activism. Her advisor is Professor Dennis Dickerson.

Kayleigh attended Florida State University for her undergraduate education where she received a B.A. in History with a minor in Religion. Subsequently she completed her M.A. in History at Brandeis University. Her masters thesis, "Trumpet in the West: The Program and Struggles of The Church for the Fellowship of All Peoples in San Francisco,  1943-1963," focused on the challenges that existed in forming America's first intentionally interracial church.  Most recently she worked at a local non-profit in Tallahassee, FL that provides rent-free housing to college students with financial need.
