Max Pendergraph

Max Pendergraph is doctoral candidate studying Latin America and Iberia. He has spent two academic years teaching English in Europe and one year teaching middle school Spanish in Gary, Indiana. His dissertation examines early twentieth century republicanism in Brazil and Portugal. Max co-directed the Brazil Studies Reading Group at Vanderbilt's Robert Penn Warren Center for the academic year 2013 - 2014, and recently edited an e-book of student work on modern Brazil. His advisor is Dr. Marshall Eakin.
