Caroline Johnston

Caroline is a fifth year PhD candidate in the History Department. She focuses on the consolidation of anti-statist political ideologies in the American Rocky Mountain West during the 1970s and 1980s. Her dissertation explores the way Western collective memory and identity shaped and defined national understandings of federal power and mobilized the New Right.
