Andrea Locke

Assistant Professor of Chemistry & Biomedical Engineering

Dr. Locke is currently accepting graduate students for Fall 2024 - APPLY TODAY

The Locke Biosensing Lab develops novel optical biosensing platforms to address current clinical diagnostic challenges at the point of care. We explore the use of various nanoplasmonic structures incorporated in paper- or micro-fluidic platforms to create rapid diagnostic platforms that are simplistic and user-friendly. Current projects use surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy and localized surface plasmon resonance to detect pathogens and other bioanalytes in various biological fluids derived from clinical samples.
