Clubs and Organizations

There are many opportunities for students to become involved with the department and across campus. Below are a number of mathematics-related clubs and organizations to consider.

Actuarial Science Club

The Vanderbilt Actuarial Science Club provides members with opportunities to gain actuarial knowledge and to apply what they learn through two tracks: group projects and financial products design competitions

Association for Women in Mathematics

The Vanderbilt University Student Chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics aims to foster a sense of community among students who love math and are passionate about diversifying the field. The group is a space where people of all gender identities, backgrounds, and majors can talk about their experiences in mathematics, make connections with other people who love math, and work to inspire positive change on campus.

Math Club

The Vanderbilt Math Club provides a place for those interested in mathematics to get to know each other on a more informal level outside of the classroom.

Pi Mu Epsilon

Pi Mu Epsilon is a national math honor society that hosts an annual national conference as well as various regional conferences where members can present and discuss interesting math topics and original research. PME also publishes student-authored papers in a semi-annual journal and assists students with funding for math-related contests and activities.

Vandy Quants

Vandy Quants helps develop interest in quantitative finance. The group aims to educate the student body about what it means to be a “quant” and teach them the skills necessary to prepare them for an internship in this field.

Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics

SIAM offers free membership to Vanderbilt undergraduates. Please reach out the director of undergraduate studies for more information and a nomination.
