Documentary Film Screening: Stop the Presses

Posted by on Friday, January 18, 2019 in News & Events.

On February 11 at 6pm in the Freedom Forum, the Department of Communication Studies will screen the documentary Stop the Presses (Deborah Kerr, 2018), which tells the story of the shuttering of a family-owned newspaper in Florida and addresses many pressing issues about the state of the press in the U.S.

Following the screening, we will be hosting a panel discussion with the filmmaker and other key experts on the subject of journalism, including Chris Carroll (Director of Student Media at Vanderbilt), Scott Stroud (Associate Press News Editor for Kentucky, Tennessee, and West Virginia), and Brad Schmitt (Tennessean Inside Nashville columnist).

Mark your calendars now!
