THE MUD

The Wendland-Cook Program in Religion and Justice and Vanderbilt Divinity School will host a showing of THE MUD followed by a discussion with the director and Vanderbilt faculty. THE MUD is an art film made in Kuttanad, Kerala, India that follows the life of a school-age protagonist, Joseph, and explores the principles of Integral Ecology—the dual imperative of addressing the cry of the poor and the cry of the earth. 

 

When: Thursday, January 8, 6:00-9:00 PM

Where: Reading Room (VDS Room 124)

Who: Free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

The director, Fr. Rajeev Joseph, Palakkacherry, is a Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Changanacherry, Kerala, India who is pursuing a Ph.D. in philosophy, focusing on environmental philosophy at Dharmaram Vidhya Kshetram, Bangalore, India. As an Ecopsychologist with a Master’s degree in Psychology, he is interested in bridging the gap between psychology and ecology.
