“Vanderbilt Self-Portrait” is a photography project that captures the image and essence of Vanderbilt through the faces of its community members. Supported by Vanderbilt Sesquicentennial Grant, the project authors, Allen Zeng (2023) and Richard Zhang (2024), advised by Professor Vesna Pavlović and librarian Yvonne Boyer, photographed students, faculty, and staff in the past year, as well as the environments in which they study, work, and relax. The final outcome of the project is a student-curated art gallery exhibition which includes four distinct sections: Place is to Space What Memory is to Time, Student Encounters, Campus Life, and Student Snapshot. The works of the exhibition will be preserved in their digital format as well as physical objects at the Central Library Special Collections.
