The 2025 Vanderbilt University Reunion/Alumni Weekend events include a designer talk with Dominique Greene, Studio Arts 2024 alumna

Please join us for a conversation and reception with Dominique Greene, 2024 studio art alumna and MFA candidate in Printmaking at the Rhode Island School of Design, and a participant in the 2024 Vanderbilt Department of Art Reunion event. Born in Birmingham, AL in 2001, Dominique Greene explores the experiences and complexities of Black womanhood through video art and graphic design, and she is expanding her interdisciplinary approach to include printmaking. She also designed the poster for the Studio Sessions exhibition, showcasing the Department of Art Faculty & Staff, which on view at 204 Space Gallery this fall.

Greene’s design work was crucial in the production of a large format foldable exhibition poster highlighting all 21 faculty and staff exhibiting artists in the Department of Art and the EADJ program. Her work was supported by a grant made possible by The Curb Center at Vanderbilt University, whom the Department of Art is grateful for their support.

The exhibition currently on display at the Engine for Art, Democracy & Justice (EADJ) Begonia Labs is titled Prefabricating Solidarity: IMS-Žeželj Between Yugoslavia, Cuba, and Angola.
About the EADJ program and Begonia Labs:
Founded by Dr. María Magdalena Campos-Pons, Cornelius Vanderbilt Endowed Chair Professor of Art, The Engine for Art, Democracy & Justice (or EADJ for short) explores creative approaches to living together in the Global South(s) through a platform for academic, creative and social exploration at the intersection of art, democracy and justice. It is a trans institutional research initiative among Fisk University, the Frist Art Museum, Millions of Conversations, and Vanderbilt University. EADJ’s Fall 2025 exhibition at Begonia Labs and associated programs are generously supported by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Previous programs supported by the Ford Foundation. Grace Aneiza Ali is EADJ’s appointed curator for 2024-2025.
