Space 204 welcomes Setareh Ghoreishi with Langs Play exhibition August 2024

Space 204 and the Vanderbilt Department of Art is proud to have the opportunity to provided time and space to present the recent work of Setareh Ghoreishi – graphic designer and multidisciplinary digital media artist.  Her exhibition Langs Play (Language Play) features iterations of laser cuter pieces, poster works, and projected animations.  Langs Play will be on view for a short window of opportunity to view beginning August 5-16, 2024 in Space 204 located on the second floor of the E. Bronson Ingram Studio Arts Center.

Ghoreishi’s statement describes the work  in the show that experiments with language in artistic and aesthetic ways to foster unity among people from different backgrounds. Highlighting similarities between Farsi and English using the ancient system of Cuneiform, she uses idioms of both languages, creating abstractions representing Farsi and English letters.

Setareh Ghoreishi is a graphic designer and multidisciplinary digital media artist. After receiving her B.F.A. in Graphic Design from the University of Art in Tehran, Iran, she migrated to the United States where she currently lives. In her work, she investigates cultural disparities, most specifically between the United States and Iran. She acquired her MFA in Graphic Design, and her passion for typography to create provocative experimental design installations. Also with her second MFA in Art and Technology, makes video art installation and digital technology to explore the role of visual design in the interaction of cultural and social issues, where through the lens of her own experience each country’s cultural and social relationship are examine.

Summer Hours and building access:

Space 204 is open Mondays thru Thursdays 10am to 4pm (during this this exhibition).

In accordance to summer building access for all Arts & Sciences buildings, the EBI Studio Arts Center is accessible with card access only (until the start of the fall 2024 semester). Gallery visitors should call the main office at using the following phone numbers: (main office) 615-343-7241 or (building manager office) 615-343-0237,when arriving.  A staff member will open the door to allow visitors inside the facility.
